CONDUCT - Speech

Holy Spirit, please teach me how to not be unduly offended when the wisdom of my words is scorned, and to repent of any wounded pride involved.  Proverbs 23:9 Proverbs 8:13
Loving Lord, how great is Your goodness, in the shelter of Your presence You hide me from the intrigues of men; in Your dwelling You keep me safe from accusing tongues.  Psalm 31:19-20
Lord, I can be a hot-tempered (wo)man, and easily angered, forgive me when this causes me to sin. Please deal with the root of my anger, and help me to choose to not be ensnared in angry arguments. Please teach me how to graciously remove myself for however long necessary.  Ephesians 4:26 Proverbs 22:24,25
Pride, arrogance, and the way of evil and perverted speech You hate. I want to fear You LORD by hating evil, especially in my communication.  Proverbs 8:13
Please grant me the grace to stop judging and condemning in my heart.  Luke 6:37 Mark 12:33
Almighty God, Your Word says, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" So I give You permission to search my heart and examine my mind so that I can face my true anxieties.  Jeremiah 17:9-10 Psalm 26:2 Psalm 139:23-24,
Lord, I want to excel in faith, speech, knowledge, complete earnestness, in love, in grace of giving, for this will test the sincerity of my love.  2 Corinthians 8:7-8
Holy Spirit, please help me to plead my case, and the case for others, with integrity and not to rely on empty arguments, speak lies, or exaggerate.  John 5:24 Isaiah 59:4 John 8:44
Please remind me when necessary that Jesus spoke of the devil, and said he was a murderer from the beginning and that he does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him!  John 8:44
Spirit of Truth, please teach me through conviction, and the Word, how to speak simple, straightforward truth in love, rather than stuff my feelings and say nothing, or to let my anger fly.  Ephesians 4:15
