To my shame, I find that I have misjudged others’ motivations and intentions towards me, and feel like the person who is so busy looking at the splinter in another’s eye that he cannot see the plank in his own. Holy Spirit, please reveal to me the root of this judgementalism, so that I can truly repent and cast it aside. May I be taught, rebuked, corrected and trained in righteousness as I read all parts of the Bible; and be prepared to encourage others with great patience and careful instruction. You know Lord we all stumble in many ways and I am often at fault in what I say; so may I increasingly stop before speaking to consider, what fire may be started by a small spark of a word from my tongue. James 3:2,5
May I increasingly confess my sins to others and allow them to confess to me, so that we can pray for each other so that we may be healed. James 5:16

I can find my work unsatisfying at times and unrewarding, so I do not always have the motivation to do fully the work needed to be done. So I ask You Lord to enable me to grow in discipline and do the necessary work; not just when people have their eye on me, or to win their favour, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for You Lord. Colossians 3:22,23
O Lord, search my heart, and examine my mind in those areas where I am deceived, or unaware of my faults. You say the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure, who can understand it? I know that You know me thoroughly, please help me to understand my motivations and repent of those which are ungodly, so that You may give me a new heart.
