Praise be to You, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Your great mercy You have given me a new birth into a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade - kept in heaven for me, who through faith is shielded by Your power God until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. So may I increasingly rejoice in this. For though I may now, for a short time, have to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. Through these may my faith - of greater worth than gold - be proved genuine: and result in praise, glory and honour, when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:3-7
