CHURCH - The Word
Jesus, I want to be a man of integrity teaching the way of God in accordance with the truth of Your Word as laid out in the holy scriptures. Matthew 22:16
Lord, when I receive Your Word may I speak it faithfully. For Your Word is like fire and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces. Such power should not be wasted. Jeremiah 23:28-29
Jesus, because You said, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also", I ask You to search my heart so that I may know its true treasure. I do not want to be deceived about what motivates me regarding Your Word. Matthew 6:21 Jeremiah 17:10,9
Holy Spirit, when I begin to doubt the integrity of the Word, please remind me that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. Genesis 1:1 John 1:1
Help me to remember that Jesus performed many other miraculous signs, which are not recorded in the New Testament. Nevertheless, those that are recorded are so that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing we may have life in His name. John 20:30-31
Father God, I desire to possess Your Word as an altogether reliable thing. Please give me the grace to continue to pay attention to this as I would to a light shining in a murky place. 2 Peter 1:19
Jesus, my strong desire is to increasingly put into practice Your Word and not just hear it. Luke 8:21
Good Shepherd, please warn me when I am being misled by any other writings, which are in addition to those collected and intended by You. Ecclesiastes 11:11-12 Revelation 22:18-19
Holy Spirit, please help me to hold fast to the truth that God chose me from the beginning, to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. May I always want to give thanks that I was called to this, through the gospel, that I might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please help me to stand and hold on to the teachings that have been passed on to me from the Word of God. 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15
Grant me the grace to fear God and keep His commands, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgement; including every hidden thing, whether good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
