CONDUCT - Finances
LORD, You are my refuge in the day of financial disaster, please keep me from shame. Jeremiah 17:17-18
Almighty God, Your Word says, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" So I give You permission to search my heart and examine my mind so that I can face my true anxieties. Jeremiah 17:9-10 Psalm 26:2 Psalm 139:23-24,
Jesus, please help me to trust in You when I begin to worry about my life, what I shall eat or drink; or my body, what I shall wear. Truly, I want to believe that life is more important than food, and the body more important than clothes. I do not want to behave like the pagans who run after all these things, for You say my Heavenly Father knows that I need food and clothes. Help me to do as You say, and seek His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to me as well. Matthew 6:25,31-33
Lord Jesus, I thank You that You say, "Happy are the poor, for the Kingdom of God is theirs". Jesus. help me to rejoice in that happiness of knowing I have chosen You and Your Kingdom, so I am indeed rich and blessed. Luke 6:20
God of all Comfort, You have comforted me, surely God You are my salvation in my lack of paid employment, and I will trust in You and not be afraid. Isaiah 12:2 Matthew 1:23
You say, "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord. My prayer is that I never forsake You Lord, the spring of living water. For blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water.... it does not fear when heat comes.... it has no worries in a year of drought, and never fails to bear fruit. Bless You Lord. Jeremiah 17:5,13,7-8
Holy Spirit, please help me to remember that it is the wicked who borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously. John 14:26 Psalm 37:21
During this time of great doubt about my worth and value to others because of my poor financial state, may I remember Jesus that You said that I am worth more than many sparrows; and even know how many hairs are upon my head. You willingly suffered and died that I might live: because You loved me. Holy Spirit, please help me to keep a godly perspective on my worth, both now and in eternity. If I have made gold my trust or called fine gold chains my confidence, please forgive me. O my God, may I trust You at all times and trust in You alone. Job 31:24 Psalm 62:8
Holy Spirit, please help me to renew my thinking with regard to storing up for myself (and others) treasures on earth, which moth and rust destroy, and which thieves break in and steal. Teach me how to store up treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-21
