DEPRESSION - Depression
Dear Father, despite this depression may I with Your grace, aim for perfection, listen; be of one holy mind with those who are for me, and live in peace with them. For then You, the God of love and peace will be with me. 2 Corinthians 13:11
O God, grant me the grace this day to live as a free (wo)man. 1 Peter 2:16 2 Peter 1:3
Lord Jesus, when I feel overwhelmed by spiritual attacks, may I recall that You disarmed the powers and authorities and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. And satan (the deceiver) is destined to be thrown into the lake of burning sulphur, where he will be tormented day and night for ever and ever! Colossians 2:15 Revelation 20:10.
Dear Holy Spirit, please help me to wait for the LORD; to be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. Psalm 27:14
I thank You Father that You have summoned me by name and said, “You are Mine!” Isaiah 43:1 2 Corinthians 4:7
Father God, as Your child I want to always remember that I do not live by the standards of this world. The weapons I fight with are not the weapons of this world. On the contrary … I have divine power to demolish strongholds (those thoughts and things that can have a strong hold on me). I demolish any excuses or thinking, and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God in my life. I take captive EVERY THOUGHT to make it obedient to Christ and subject to God's standards. 2 Corinthians 10:2,8-10
Jesus You are my Shepherd, with You by my side I shall not be afraid. Psalm 23:1 Hebrews 13:20
When I am feeling as though I am the only one in the world undergoing such suffering, may I realise that other brothers do too! and resist the devil’s roaring and stand firm in the faith. 1 Peter 5:9,8-9
Sovereign Lord, please wake me morning by morning, waken my ear to listen like one being taught. Isaiah 50:4
Dear Lord, this hardship I am suffering has put me under great pressure, far beyond my ability to endure, so that at times I even despair of life. At times, in my heart, I have felt the sentence of death. May I not rely on myself, but on You God who raises the dead. Please deliver me. On You I have my hope that You will continue to deliver me. May I be able to thank You for Your gracious favour granted to me, in answering my prayer (and the prayers of many). 2 Corinthians 1:8-11
